Kansas City, MO Passes Benchmarking Ordinance
The Kansas City, MO ordinance requires large commercial and multifamily residential buildings to benchmark and report their energy and water usage. This includes a requirement to track whole-building energy and water use and report it to the city annually. The ordinance does not mandate any energy retrofits.
Participating buildings will be phased in – multifamily residential buildings over 100,000 square feet in 2017. Multifamily buildings over 50,000 square feet will be included in 2018.
